Pastor’s Postcard – Welcome Father Joseph!

Sunday July 7, 2024

Please join me in welcoming Father Joseph Troung, our new Parochial Vicar. Fr. Joseph was ordained in 2012 for the Diocese of Orange after eight years of formation at Mount Angel and Saint John’s Seminaries.  His first assignment was Our Lady Queen of Angels followed by St. Columban, St. Timothy and most recently St. Boniface.  The gospel passage from John 21 touched Fr. Jospeh’s heart and was the inspiration for him to respond to becoming a priest, “Peter, do you love me more than these?”

Father Joseph is from Vietnam and his first language is Vietnamese.  He came to the United States in 1993.  His second language is English and he does not speak Spanish.  He is the youngest of eight children, with six sisters and an older brother who is now a retired priest who served in Da Nang.  Fr. Joseph will be available after the Spanish liturgies this weekend.  Next weekend, we will welcome Fr. Joseph after the English liturgies.  Please pray for us and vocations to the priesthood.

In Christ,

Rev. Robert P. Capone
