Saint Patrick and Saint Joseph, Pray for Us
Looking back on the month of March, I feel gratitude for the generosity of members of our parish and the saints who intercede for us in heaven. The prayer of the Church speaks of the saints as those who “offer us sure signs of God’s love.” Members of our parish have granted me sure signs of God’s presence through their generosity. I think of the Knights of Columbus who fed us on Fridays and Committee Hispano who prepares meals for us on the weekend. I am grateful for our school families who help make tuition more affordable and Catholic education more accessible through their generosity at our School Gala. Our parish staff all gave generously of themselves in preparing for Holy Week. How about the catechists who prepared our brothers and sisters for the Easter Sacraments!
Our One Faith, One Family, One Future Campaign, yes, the one through which the new restrooms were built, has a current balance that should allow us to go forward with the next phase: solar power. Any funds for the Pastoral Services Appeal this year in excess of our parish goal will go toward our solar power project. The benefit of solar power is that it will reduce the amount we pay monthly for electricity. The savings will allow us to keep up with the inflation in salaries and maintain adequate compensation for our Sea King teachers and our parish staff. May Saint Patrick, the apostle to Ireland, intercede for us that our parish and school truly be evangelizing communities. May Saint Joseph, the husband of Mary, intercede for you and sustain you in your support of our parish family and your own. Thank you all for your continued support and generosity.
In Christ,
Rev. Robert P. Capone
