Parish Retreat This Week
Please join us this Thursday for our parish retreat, “Hope and the Holy Spirit.” Paul, in his letter to the Romans, reminds us of the connection: “Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us” (Romans 5:5). We taste the first fruits of the future glory we hope for through our communion in Christ! That is why hope is here at Saint Joachim!
Our parish retreat will feature prayer, studying the gospel according to Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, exploring the theological virtue of hope, and encountering the third person of the Blessed Trinity. Because our hope is based on our experience of God, you will learn new ways of identifying God’s presence and inspiration in the events and encounters of your life.
Over the course of two consecutive Thursdays, Fred LaPuzza, Sister Micaela and I aspire to empower you to be ready to “give an explanation to anyone who asks you for the reason for your hope” (1 Peter 3:15).
A dinner of delicious tortas will be provided by the parish. See you Thursday!
In Christ,
Rev. Robert P. Capone
