Pentecost Ministry Fair, Connect and Share

The 267th successor of Saint Peter has taken the name Pope Leo XIV.  He is the first person from North America to assume the mantle of leadership for the whole Church as the bishop of Rome.  You may know that he was born in Chicago and was a missionary in Peru.  He led the religious order of the Augustinians, was a seminary professor and a member of important dicasteries or departments of the Roman Curia for bishops and evangelization.

The Bishop of Rome is the visible center of unity for the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.  The bishop of Orange is in union with him as are the ordinaries of dioceses throughout the world.  The priests of the Diocese of Orange will gather for retreat around our bishop this week in the desert.  Please pray for us, and especially my classmates, including Father Steve Correz, who are celebrating our twenty-fifth anniversary.  Norbertine clergy will preside at our morning and evening weekday Masses here at Saint Joachim this week.  Please be aware that Reconciling Penance (confessions) will not be available this Wednesday.

In Christ,

Rev. Robert P. Capone
