Fr. Robert is getting to know our parish families. Here are some questions he had for the Moreno Family:
How long have you been in the parish and what do you most value?
We have been in the parish for 32 years. The parish is like a second home to us. We like the hospitality of the parish. Our three children graduated from Saint Joachim School.
Tell us about yourselves; work, hobbies?
Francisco is a gardener and Francisca worked part time for 18 years at Costa Mesa High School. Francisca likes to cook and exercise at Fairview Park or at the gym. Francisco enjoys playing the accordion, especially Mañanitas for Our Lady of Guadalupe. They like to spend time with their three children and six grandchildren. They are from Michoacan in Mexico and have been married for 45 years.
What role or difference does faith make in your life?
Francisco says that through faith he knows that God cares for us and enlightens our path. He is joyful serving the Lord Jesus these last 32 years as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Francisca says that through faith she feels close to God. The closer to God she is, the happier she feels. Faith also grants them friendships in the community, especially among those with whom they collaborate in ministry. Faith has helped them overcome difficulties in their marriage and inspired them to serve others through Marriage Encounter.
If you are married and would like to make a retreat with your spouse, you may call them at 949-903-9263.
