Pastor’s Postcard – Meet the Griel Family!

Sunday February 25, 2024

Fr. Robert is getting to know our parish families. Here are some questions he had for the Griel Family:

How long have you been in the parish and what do you most value?

The Greil’s have been in the parish for fourteen years.  Andrea went through the RCIA process and enjoys being a catechist for those in our community preparing for baptism, confirmation and Eucharist.  She likes the Saint Joachim community for all the families who have become friends.  Marc, after a warm welcome by Fr. Ric Sera and Sister Katheleen, feels this is the place for him and his family to continue their faith journey after he arrived from Wisconsin.

Tell us about your family: work, hobbies?

Mark works in operations for a construction company and Andrea manages the offices of a law firm.  Harrison just graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Mechanical Engineering degree.  Audry is a senior at the University of Nebraska studying psychology.  Joe and Caroline are students at Saint Joachim school.  Andrea helps lead the fifth-grade girl-scout troop in our parish.  The family enjoys playing games and preparing and sharing meals together and watching the Green Bay Packers.

What role or difference does faith make in your life?

Andrea says faith helps her get through every day.  She has an ongoing and open conversation with God and tells him about everything.  Mark says faith brings him calm in the midst of the chaos and helps him stay on a true path forward.  He expresses his faith in prayer before meals with the family and with the children at night.  Mark and his son Joe are ministers of hospitality.  Joe says his faith helps him get to heaven.  Caroline says faith is fun when lived as an altar server.

In Christ,

Rev. Robert P. Capone
