Pastor’s Postcard – Meet the Gomez Family!

Sunday October 22, 2023

Fr. Robert is getting to know our parish families. Here are some questions he had for the Gomez Family:

How long have you been in the parish and what do you most value?

Jose and Maria Gomez have been in the parish since 1989 and 1995 respectively and have three adult children; Jose Luis, Waldo and Leslie.  They value serving Jesus through ministry in the Church.  They also say the church is beautiful and look forward to using the new restrooms! Jose has been an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion for 22 years.  He is also a member of Adoration Nocturno and prays before the Blessed Sacrament from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on the First Friday of the month.  He also locks the church after the 7:00 p.m. Mass on Fridays.

Tell us about yourselves: work, hobbies?

Jose and Maria have been married for forty-seven years.  Their adult children live nearby.  Jose works in construction.  Maria works in the home.

What role or difference does faith make in your life?

I believe that Jesus is with us at every moment.  Our faith helps us a lot.  I call upon the Lord Jesus when there are difficulties and the Virgin of Guadalupe when there is a sickness or I need work.  Believing in Jesus brings us great joy.

In Christ,

Rev. Robert P. Capone
