Father Robert is getting to know our parish families…Meet the Dominguez Family
How long have you been in the parish and what do you most value?
We have been at this parish for about 20 years; we were part of the choir for some time and also members of a youth ministry. Our oldest son has been enrolled at St. Joachim School for 7 years and now we also have our second son attending TK. What we like about the parish and the school is the warm welcome we always get from the people who work and serve here. We also have so many family and friends that attend this parish that we feel very happy here.
Tell me about your family: work, hobbies?
We are a very close and friendly family with roots from Mexico. Sairel was born in Michoacán and I (Jorge) in the State of Mexico, both brought by parents who came looking for better opportunities for their families. Sairel and I met in high school about 16 years ago; after a few years we started our family, and for many reasons we couldn’t get married right away but we always knew we needed God to be the center of our relationship. Last year we finally blessed our family and got married here by Father Robert.
We have a small cleaning business company which we started about 10 years ago. Some of our hobbies include watching our oldest play soccer, taking our other two kids to the playground and visiting our families to make memorable moments with them.
What role or difference does faith make in your lives?
Faith is the foundation of creating good things in life, for us it is very important because faith is what has been keeping us together when facing problems and challenges. We also believe that we need to work to make it grow and strong. We always encourage our kids towards learning more about faith and God, and now our oldest is learning how to serve as altar boy as part of his mission with God. Spiritual life really depends on our faith to be able to thrive in adversity.
In Christ,
Rev. Robert P. Capone
