Fr. Robert is getting to know our parish families. Meet a Parish Family… The Cejas!

How long have you been in the parish and what do you most value?
The Ceja family has been in the parish for 39 years. They love the community for all the opportunities to share their God given gifts with others.
Tell us about your family: work, hobbies?
Alfredo and Rosa have five children. The oldest is now 39 years old, Jose Alfredo. Next is Francisco Javier, Alma Rosa, Miguel Angel and 19-year-old Teresa Maria. Three of the children work in after-school programs for the district. Alfredo worked as a bartender at the Santa Ana Country Club and now works on events for the Balboa Bay Yacht Club. Rosa works in the home and was also a babysitter. The family likes to go to the movies and cook. Alfredo says that when he tastes something delicious, he finds the recipe and cooks the meal. Rosa likes cooking for the happiness it brings to others.
What role or difference does faith make in your life?
Alfredo says that faith makes a big difference in his life. He enjoys spending time before the Blessed Sacrament in adoration. He says it makes him feel whole or full. Rosa says faith helps her see the face of Christ in her brothers and sisters, especially those that suffer. She feels the spirit of the Beatitudes when she helps others. She sees the difference charity makes in the lives of others and her own. Her faith also moves her to pray for others, especially for those who have died recently, turning to the rosary and the words, “pray for us, Mary, at the hour of our death.”
In Christ,
Rev. Robert P. Capone
