Installation & Anniversary

My installation as pastor will take place at our 10:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, July 6th, with Bishop Vann presiding. My title will change from Parochial Administrator to Pastor, but my role will remain essentially the same.  The bishop will encourage me to always be a loving father, a gentle shepherd and a wise teacher, so that I may lead you to Christ who will strengthen me in all I do.

Over the last two years, Jesus has granted me the grace to lead in collaboration with the clergy, pastoral staff, Pastoral Council and Committee Hispano.  Together, all of us are accomplishing so much: completion of church restrooms and near completion of solar power and restroom refresh for Nevin and Stoneman Halls.  We elected and appointed members to our Parish Pastoral Council.  Our Stewardship Committee facilitated electronic giving for our Sunday Offertory through Faith Direct and encouraged the sharing of charisms through the spiritual gifts inventory, ministry fair and new minister orientation.  Many of you participated in our Jubilee Year of Hope Speaker Series.  We also reintroduced the Precious Blood at our weekday liturgies.  Now is a good time to take a deep breath and celebrate!

My priestly ordination was June 10, 2000, a jubilee year as well.  Other than six years as a chaplain at the University of San Diego, I have served as a parish priest.  Through the transitions, my friends and family have been a source of stability and support. I am grateful that many will be joining us for the Mass and reception on July 6th. Thank you for welcoming me to Saint Joachim and supporting the mission of our parish!

In Christ,

Rev. Robert P. Capone
