Minutes from May 1 Meeting
The meeting began at 6:05pm. The following members were in attendance: Tom Leahy, Mike Kehoe, Sylvia Catania, Alicia Moral, Steve Gaitan, Kathy Lewis, Fernando Ramos.
A prayer to the Holy Spirit, in the company of Saint Joseph the Worker, was offered. Father Robert shared details about the June 19th meeting with the Finance Council. He also spoke to the need for representation of PPC members at the Pentecost Ministry Fair to be available for those with the charism of leadership as well as those with questions about the parish or Council work.
For the Ministry Fair, it was suggested that bilingual talking points be prepared for those who might ask about the work and progress of the Council. Tom offered to prepare the talking points for pastoral staff to translate. It was also suggested we have sheets to give visitors that show the goals of the council as illustrated on the bulletin board.
Next, the chair spoke to and provided worksheets that will help the committee members for each area (Youth, Family Faith Formation and Hospitality & Welcome) to arrive at 5 goals.
These goals will be part of each committee’s written report to the larger council according to the following schedule:
September 18: Hospitality / October 16: Youth / November 20: Family Faith Formation.
At 6:35 pm members broke into their respective committees to complete the worksheet “Three Pastoral Priorities: Achieves, Avoids, Improves.”
At 7:15 pm members reconvened to address any questions but no committee reports.
Each committee is to come up with at least five goals for their area using the worksheets with the previous work on Achieves, Avoids and Improves to guide their work for the July 17th meeting.
