PARISH LIFE MINISTRIES

A parish is a family of families. We as a family are here to care for each other and too look our for each other's good. The various ministries in our parish are ways to connect with others and to serve a common good. Take a look below at the many ministries we offer here at St. Joachim. Please contact us if you have any questions or need help finding a place to fit in.

Divine Mercy

Divine Mercy

Every Friday at 3:00 PM in the church a group of people meet to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. In the Divine Mercy devotion, the message takes on a powerful new focus, calling people to a deeper understanding that God’s love is unlimited and available to everyone — especially the greatest sinners.

Seniors

Knights of Columbus

Imagine being part of an organization that fills your heart and your mind with the joy of giving to others and the feeling that comes with making a difference. Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Being a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your community; it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family life. Standing Business Meetings held in Annex “A” across the street from the church & start with the rosary at 7pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.

Evangelization Team

Evangelization Team

Saint Joachim Church exists to build the Kingdom of God on earth and to help people achieve Salvation in the hereafter. The Church exists to fulfill the Great Commission given to us by Jesus Christ, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them all that I have commanded you and know that I am with you until the end of the age.” (Mt. 28:19-20)

Modern Catholics are “sacramentalized” but they are not evangelized. What is lacking is the Kerygma which is they have not received the announcement of God’s love in their lives and experienced a personal life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

If we are to be the makers of Disciples that Jesus commissioned the Church to be we have to first be evangelized.

Neocatechumenal Way

Neocatechumenal Way

The Neocatechumenal Way, a name given by the Congregation for Divine Worship and approved by the Holy See, is not a ministry but a Christian Way of Life. It is a post-baptismal catechumenate implemented under the direction of the diocesan bishop and local pastor, basically and principally, catechetical and liturgical. Beginning with an initial catechesis, the itinerary of Catholic formation consists of the Word of God, Eucharist and Community. Within the Diocese of Orange, there are over 50 communities. Here at St Joachim there are four, 1 in Spanish and 3 in English, with mission families sent by the Holy Father participating in the "new evangelization" in the Midwest US, Philadelphia and in Ireland.
